The eyewear company Ciba Vision is an organization which focuses on the research, development, and manufacture of contact lenses and products for lens care. They are a Novartis company that was founded in 1859 and later chose to merge with Geigy in 1970. This merge allowed for the formation of Ciba-Geigy. In 1996 there would be yet another merge, this time with Sandoz, to form Novartis. The Ciba Vision eye care products brand itself was introduced in 1980 as a specified portion of the Ciba-Geigy company. The purpose was to focus on the brand becoming their official eyecare department and line. Currently, Ciba Vision is headquartered in the Johns Creek Technology Park area of Atlanta, Georgia in the United States.
